AICC and the Fibre Box Association (FBA) are joining forces once again to bring a pro-industry, pro-manufacturing message to an election-minded Congress and Administration. Both associations are inviting their members to participate in the 2014 Corrugated and Paperboard Packaging Washington Industry Fly-In, June 9-10, 2014, in Washington, DC. This year we will again partner with the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) for their 2014 Manufacturing Summit.
The 2014 Industry Washington Fly-In will kick-off with an opening reception on the evening of Monday, June 9 followed the next morning with a briefing breakfast on Tuesday, June 10 at The Renaissance Washington DC Hotel. The breakfast will feature congressional and industry speakers that will address the climate of the manufacturing sector and the important issues and message to bring to our nation's lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
Representative, Phil Roe (R-Tennessee) will be one of the featured speakers at the briefing breakfast. Congressman Roe will outline his legislative plan which offers an alternative to the Affordable Care Act, a topic of key importance to converters, carton and box makers and their suppliers everywhere. Other invited speakers include House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Virginia), Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky), Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio).
In the afternoon we have confirmed a meeting with House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) at the Speaker's office at the US Capitol at 1:30 p.m.
