REPUBLIC GROUP INC.

James Kicklighter has been named mill manager for the company’s Halltown, W.V.-based paperboard mill. Republic Paperboard Co. manufactures recylced paperboard, recovered paper fiber, and gypsum wallboard.

PLAINWELL PAPER CO.
Ed Palsrok had recently been promoted to national accounts manager, technical papers, at the company’s mill in Plainwell, Mich. Bob Tardiff has been promoted to sales manager, technical and specialty papers, at the Plainwell, Mich., mill. Tardiff will be coordinating all sales activity for technical and specialty papers at both the Plainwell Paper mill and the recently acquired Shasta Paper mill in Anderson, Calif.

INLAND PAPERBOARD AND PACKAGING INC.
Evan S. Pritz has been promoted to the position of v.p., strategy and development. In this role, Pritz will assume responsibility for e-business implementation including electronic data interchange and web-based business interactions.

APPLETON PAPERS
Mike Van Eyck, formerly CEO of the company’s coated free sheet business, has been named pres. and CEO of the newly created Appleton Coated LLC.

GEORGIA-PACIFIC CORP.
Asa D. Hardison, v.p. containerboard manufacturing-west, has been promoted to group v.p.-containerboard manufacturing.

EASTERN PULP & PAPER
Timothy Needham has been appointed senior v.p. and general manager of the paper div.

FRASER PAPERS
Roger Huckendubler has been appointed v.p., West Carrollton operations and international distribution center.

PAPEREXCHANGE.COM
Kent A. Dolby has assumed the position of pres. and CEO. Dolby has also been appointed a member of the management board.

DRESSER EQUIPMENT GROUP
Gary Hanson has been appointed to the newly created position of director of strategic planning and business development of the DMD Roots div.

ENCORE PAPER
John S. Kvocka has been named exec. v.p./general manager and CFO of the New York-based recycler.

ROLLAND
Martin P. Pelletier has been appointed future pres. and CEO. This appointment will come into effect at the annual meeting of the corp. to be held on April 25, 2000.

Arnfinn Giske has been named to the newly created position of v.p., transportation. Anna Skrobecki has been named v.p. and mill manager for the Flint River pulp mill located near Oglethorpe, Ga. She replaces Kent Walker, who was named to lead the company’s Columbus, Miss., mill.

FORT JAMES
Richard L. Davis has been named director of product safety and compliance.

ALLIANCE FOREST PRODUCTS
Daniel Tardif has been appointed sr. v.p. and CFO. Tardif will be based at the company’s headquarters in Montreal, Que.

RAYONIER
Richard B. Chapas has been appointed to the newly created position of v.p., new products. Royce B. Daniel has been appointed v.p., research and development. Jack M. Kriesel has been promoted to gen. mgr., Jesup Mill. W. Mike Burch has been promoted to gen. mgr., Fernandina Mill.

AMERICAN TISSUE
Jay Thompson has been promoted to v.p., foodservice sales. Silvia Daddi has joined the company as v.p., foodservice marketing. Michael Trapp has been appointed v.p., kraft products.

WELDWOOD OF CANADA
Current pres., Jeffrey A. Hearn, has also been named CEO. Mr. Hearn succeeds George Richards, who will continue on in his position as chairman of the board.

NEXFOR
Yvonne A. McKinlay has been appointed sr. v.p. and pres. of Norbord Industries, the company’s building materials business unit.

CHAMPION INTERNATIONAL CORP.
Lloyd Brown was recently appointed director, sales and marketing, engineered wood products for both Champion International Corp. and Weldwood of Canada. Mr. Brown will be based in Fresno, Calif. Jeffrey A. Hearn has been elected CEO of Weldwood of Canada Ltd., Champion’s wholly owned Canadian subsidiary.

INTERNATIONAL PAPER
The fine papers div. of the company has appointed Sherri Cruz to the position of product manager, Beckett Papers, East Granby, Conn.

HANCOCK TIMBER RESOURCE GROUP

Ph.D., has been named CIO. Christensen and Binkley had been, respectively, senior v.p. and managing director, and senior v.p. of investment strategy and research.

Cherae Bishop has taken over the helm of the association’s recycling dept. Bishop will be dir. of fiber recovery and utilization.

The company has announced several management changes. Tom Miller was named group v.p. Jim McCullar has been named pres. and Mark Thompson has been named v.p. of Tricom, Motion’s integrated supply program. Harold Dunaway has been named exec. v.p., finance and administration. Vic Slay has been named v.p., finance. Ellen Holladay has been named senior v.p. and CIO. Wayne Law was named senior v.p., purchasing and distribution. BUCKMAN LABORATORIES
Doug Linn has been promoted to v.p., marketing of the specialty chemical company headquartered in Memphis, Tenn. Jack R. Blair and Spencer L. Wilson have been elected to the Board of Directors of Bulab Holdings, parent company of Buckman Laboratories. Curt Otto has been appointed to the newly created position of marketing manager, strategic and productivity support. Robert C. Thompson was promoted to manager of applied knowledge/customer alliance.

GODWIN PUMPS
Ronald C. Askin was promoted to western regional manager of the the company, which is a manufacturer of portable rental pumps.

LURGI PSI

Larry Robertson has joined the company as v.p. of engineering. Henning Nixdorff has transferred from Lurgi Bischoff in Frankfurt, Germany, to company headquarters in Memphis to serve as senior sales manager, gas cleaning systems.

Herb Hildebrand has been named president of the global supplier of pulp and paper finishing equipment based in Hoquiam, Wash.

VICTAULIC
David S. Bugby and Thomas S. Muller have been named exec. v.p.’s. David K. Sharkley was appointed v.p., sales.

ITT INDUSTRIES
Paul Baldetti has been appointed pres. of the industrial pump group. Baldetti was most recently group v.p., crane fluid handling group. He will be based at ITT Industries’ pump group headquarters in Seneca Falls, N.Y.

THIELE KAOLIN
Rick Colvin has been announced as the director of sales and distribution for the company. Mr. Colvin will be responsible for the company’s domestic sales, export sales, and customer service. He succeeds Martina Hodges, who was recently appointed v.p. of business planning.

HUNTSMAN TIOXIDE
Stuart Heyes, v.p., sales, Americas, has assumed responsibility for the management of the Downer’s Grove office and taken over supply chain management. Guy Gauthier, v.p., operations, americas and gen. mgr., Tioxide Canada Inc., has assumed the project management role for the closure of the Tracy plant and he will continue as joint gen. mgr. of Louisiana Pigment Co.

 

RETIREMENTS
POTLATCH CORP.
Sandra T. Powell is retiring from her position as sr. v.p., finance and CFO after 33 years with the company.

ROLLAND INC.
Yvan Duchesne is retiring as pres. and CEO, effective April 25, 2000. He will be succeeded by Martin P. Pelletier.

HUNTSMAN TIOXIDE
John Collingwod, pres. and CEO, Tioxide Americas, retired after 25 years with the group on Feb. 9, 2000.
