AHLSTROM PAPER GROUP

James A. Prescott joined Ahlstrom Paper Group’s Filtration division as the president and CEO of Ahlstrom Engine Filtration. Mr. Prescott succeeds Edward Leinss, who served as president since 1981.

CONSOLIDATED PAPERS INC.

Larry Neidermann has been named millwide systems manager at the Wisconsin River division. Mary Reinke has been promoted to millwide systems manager at the Biron division. In the Wisconsin Rapids division, Don Turner has been promoted to millwide systems manager; Tim Budelier has been promoted to assistant production manager—base mill; Brian Cummins has advanced to quality control supervisor; and Sharon Thimmesch has been promoted to coating superintendent. John Thompson has been named senior electrical engineer at the company’s Lake Superior Paper Industries and Superior Recycled Fiber Industries.

FRASER PAPERS

Rogen Huckendubler has been appointed v.p., West Carrollton Mill Operations and International Distribution Center.

CHAMPION INTERNATIONAL CORP.

Loletta Redmon has joined the company as an associate process engineer at its Cantonment, Fla., mill. Brian Dunson has been named paper machine supervisor for one of the two paper machines at the Pensacola, Fla., mill. Kathy Black recently joined the company as a process engineer.

INTERNATIONAL PAPER

Angela Carlig and Stacey Coffman have been appointed district sales managers for the Fine Papers division. Carlig will be based in the Chicago office and will work in the Illinois and Wisconsin markets. Coffman will be based in New York and will work in the New York and New Jersey markets.

At the Natchez mill, Joe Merrick has accepted reassignment to the position of shift team leader. Craig Lichty has been appointed manager of technical services. Scot Jones has accepted the position of manager of the pulp business unit. Libby Johnson has been named manager, supply chain. Carroll Gunter has been appointed to the position of manufacturing resource, power business unit. Shaun Sholder has been named manager, finished products business unit.

RUSSELL-FIELD PAPER CO. INC.

Richard P. Hogan has been promoted to corporate v.p. of Russell-Field Paper Co., Inc. Mr. Hogan most recently held the position of controller. Mariah Raftree has been promoted to the position of narrow web sales manager.

Raymond G. Pepin, P.E., has joined the firm as a senior consultant, focusing on services to the pulp and paper industry.

AMI BEARINGS INC.

Wally Budzielek has been appointed as sales manager. Budzielek will be responsible for managing sales of AMI’s mounted ball bearing throughout the U.S.

FIFE CORP.

Ron E. Suenram has been promoted to product manager, guiding systems at Fife Corp. Suenram will direct the company’s development of new and improved web guiding products and systems, as well as interface with Fife external sales force on improving customer’s operations. Edward D. Engledow has been promoted to the position of manager of customer service and quality control. John R. Sanders has been promoted to multi-product systems sales specialist.

SEIMENS

Siemens Westinghouse Technical Services has appointed Greg Schmidt manager of the Atlanta Business Center, responsible for engineering, commissioning, and maintenance services for automation, drives, and power distribution systems.

Siemens has created the Industrial Systems & Technical Services division, which will be led by Oliver Hauck as senior v.p. Klaus Roehmer will be v.p. and general manager.

ALFA LAVAL

Sammy Hulpiau was named president of the company, a supplier of sanitary and industrial pumps, valves, and fittings; effective Dec. 1, 1999. Marty Organ has been promoted to marketing supervisor. Jeff Martin has accepted a position as a technical service representative.

OMNOVA SOLUTIONS INC.

Kevin McMullen has been elected president and COO, effective Jan. 4, 2000. Mr. McMullen will lead the company’s business segments, Performance Chemicals and Decorative & Building Products.

GREENE, TWEED & CO.

Michael Brewer has been appointed general manager of the company’s Fluid Handling Business Group. In this position, Mr. Brewer assumes worldwide management accountability for the group’s sales and marketing, distribution, product development, customer service, and quality control functions.

SINCLAIR INTERNATIONAL

Martin J. Sferrazza has been named COO, a company which is a supplier of formation and dewatering systems, dandy rolls, doctors, foils, felt guides, showers, strainers, suction boxes, and wire cloth.

SOLVAY INTEROX

The company has appointed Bill Barnes to the position of logistics director. In addition to responsibility for Solvay Interox logistics, Barnes will oversee the integration of the supply chain management function into the Logistics Group, with responsibility for coordination of purchasing functions across the three Solvay Interox locations and with Solvay Management Services Inc. and other affiliated companies.

WIELAND ELECTRIC INC.

Buddy Mitchell has been named electronics product manager. Mitchell is responsible for the promotion, sales support, marketing support, quality, and product development of multiple electronic products.

THOMSON INDUSTRIES INC.

Dr. Alex N. Beavers, Jr., has joined the company as CEO, succeeding John B. Thomson, Jr. Dr. Beavers will report directly to Mr. Thomson, who continues to hold the position of chairman of the board.

AMERICAN CAST IRON PIPE CO.(ACIPCO)

Ronald Hayes has been named manager of quality assurance. Hayes will lead a team responsible for inspecting and testing ACIPCOproducts to ensure adherence to standards.

RHEOX INC.

Joseph Doolan has been appointed manager, water-based product development. Doolan will direct the research and development of new water-based products and expand existing product lines. He will work out of the Hightstown, N.J., headquarters.

CARGILL INC.

Robert L. Kearney has been named technical director, starch.

WEBEX INC.

Dave Grishaber has been named sales manager, Midwest region. Grishaber will provide technical expertise and sales support to converting customers in Wis., Minn., Iowa, Ill., and Mo.

BUCKMAN LABORATORIES INTERNATIONAL INC.

The Board of Directors of Bulab Holdings Inc., parent company of Buckman Laboratories International, Inc., announced the immediately effective appointment of Spencer L. Wilson and Jack R. Blair to the board.

KEYSTONE ANILINE CORP.

The company has recently announced that Bill Covington, current heat transfer and printing inks product manager, will now assume responsibility for all ink application sales. Keystone provides dyes and pigments to customers both in the U.S. and throughout the world.

FIELDBUS FOUNDATION

Richard J. Timoney has been named as v.p., member services. Timoney has over twenty years of experience in process and factory automation. He most recently served as v.p. of marketing for Total Control Products Inc.

MOORE PROCESS AUTOMATION SOLUTIONS

Ken Vojir has been appointed to the newly-created position of director of operations for the measurement and control business team.

REED EXHIBITION CO.

Brett DeWeese has been appointed North American sales manager of Reed’s Packaging Exhibitions for North America. The packaging industry events include EastPack, WestPack, and SouthPack.

NORDSON CORP.

Fred C. Erler has been appointed president of the company’s Slautterback Corp. subsidiary. The Monterey, Calif.-based company designs, manufactures, and markets reliable, low-maintenance hot melt adhesive dispensing equipment.

CIT GROUP/EQUIPMENT FINANCING

Mr. Donal Ratigan has been named president of The National Industrial Equipment Financing Division, headquartered in Atlanta, Ga.

CERTIFICATIONS

MOTION INDUSTRIES

Bob Byrd recently passed the Certified Bearing Specialist examination. The program is designed to certify industry personnel as bearing specialists, individuals with excellent knowledge in the selection, application, and analysis of bearings.

 

SCHOLARSHIPS

ALBANY INTERNATIONAL

The 1999 Gene Shurling Couch Pit University (CPU) Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. The award was presented by Tommy Worley, scholarship chairman for CPU and product manager, Kraft Papers for Albany International Corp.

 

RETIREMENTS

VALMET

Mr. Lars Nasman has retired from his position as executive v.p. Mr. Nasman also served as president of the Fiber Technology Group for Metso Corp., Valmet’s parent company. He is leaving the company after 25 years’ employment in Rauma Corp., which was merged with Valmet on July 1, 1999.

 

ALLIANCE FOREST PRODUCTS INC.

Dino Fuoco has resigned from his positions as executive v.p. and administration officer. Mr. Fuoco had served the company since its creation in 1994.

XYCOM AUTOMATION

Thomas Gross has resigned from his position as CEO in order to pursue other business opportunities.
