The new FS2D online formation analyzer from CyberMetrics facilitates fast optimization of paper machine setup. FS2D reacts instantly to changes in wet-end paper machine conditions. A user can quickly optimize conditions to achieve the best possible formation and machine productivity. The sensor employs a high-speed video camera and strobe to capture a “look through” image of the web. This image is shown at the workstation.

New Pig Corp. has introduced the PIG pulp fiber mat, specially designed with the pulp and paper industry in mind. Made of pulp fiber, these mat pads do not contaminate pulp waste streams and process equipment. This low lint, highly absorbent mat is fire retardant and can be used as a pad or a super absorbent wipe to clean up non-aggressive liquids.
