The Fine Papers division has named Pat Pacz as mgr. of supply chain and business systems, and Ron Stamps has been named mgr. of information and business systems.

Rheal Gingras has been appointed to the position of district sales mgr. for the new Canadian Zone.

Helen Murphy has joined the company as sr. v.p. and CFO. She recently concluded a nine-year tenure with Poly Gram Holding Inc. as CFO.

Walter M. Wirfs has been named v.p. for manufacturing.

The company has appointed Don Johnson v.p. and gen. mgr. of Simpson Tacoma Kraft Co. He has served as operations mgr. since February 1993.

Mario Daniel Aguilar has been named sr. programmer analyst in the Paper Group’s manufacturing information resources dept. in Port Edwards, and Patrick Bloczynski has joined the company as a programmer for the information resources dept. in Port Edwards.

Robert J. Synk has been appointed to the company’s forest products industry consulting staff. He has had a 20-year career as a consulting engr. and project mgr. in the fields of pulp and paper, power generation, and process environmental technology.

Joaquin (Quino) Lorente has been appointed pres. of Tidland Corp. Since 1985, Lorente has held various positions with the company and was instrumental in setting up the three joint ventures of Tidland Corp. to manufacture Tidland products overseas.

DU PONT

Jeffrey L. Keefer has been appointed v.p. and gen. mgr. of DuPont White Pigment & Mineral Products, the DuPont unit which produced titanium dioxide for the paper, plastics and coatings industries. He replaces George F. MacCormack, who has been named group v.p. of the company’s polyester business.

RETIREMENTS

LOUISIANA-PACIFIC

The company has announced that former Delaware Gov. Pete du Pont will retire from its board of directors, and will be replaced by Paul W. Hansen, exec. dir. of The Izaak Walton League of America Inc.

STRATHMORE PAPERS

After 27 years of service, Jim Murphy, a leading industry expert in business and corporate correspondence papers, has announced his retirement. During his career, Murphy launched a number of successful new product initiatives for Strathmore, including the highly acclaimed Strathmore Writing System.

CROWN VANTAGE

Ernest S. Leopold, who has served as chairman of the board of Crown Vantage since its incorporation in 1995, has retired from that post. He will continue to serve on the board through the end of his term and has decided not to seek reelection.

CASE PAPER CO.

After a 47-year career with the Case Paper company, Eugene R. Goldberg, v.p., sales, has retired.

CAMERON

After 40 years in the paper industry, Michael Marshall has retired from Cameron. He will continue to work on a temporary basis as a consultant.
